Business ideas celebrated at the South Africa Entrepreneur Awards

Read < 1 minute

South Africa’s Gauteng province has launched the country’s first ever Township Entrepreneurs Awards.

It’s an initiative by the Gauteng Department of Economic Development and it aims to support and drive the province’s Township Economy Revitalisation Strategy.

The scheme is a way of recognising and rewarding entrepreneurial talent in township settlements.

Divided into 14 categories, winning township entrepreneurs were offered cash injections of up to 300,000 rands.

CCTV’s Julie Scheier has more on that story.
