Morocco on Monday offered to provide intelligence assistance in investigations into Sunday’s terror attacks in Cote d’Ivoire.
Two soldiers and six assailants were killed in the attacks that targeted three beach resort hotels. Moroccan King Mohammed VI made the pledge in a phone call with President of Cote d’Ivoire Alassan Ouattara.
Morocco will send a team to support Ivorian authorities in the probe, the King’s office said in a statement. The monarch expressed his sincere condolences and deep compassion, the statement said.
Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire enjoy strong ties. Morocco is the largest invester in this western African country, and dozens of Ivorian preachers have received religious training in Morocco.
