Kenya’s deputy President’s pilot caught in video harassing a police woman

A video showing a British pilot assaulting a Kenyan Police woman has gone viral.

Kenyans on twitter expressed their dismay using #DeportRutosPilot #PoliceWoman  some calling for the culprit to be arrested, others deported and other angered by the men by standers.

The deputy President William Ruto released a statement saying he has been made aware of the situation and called on the police to act swiftly.

‘The Deputy President has asked the police to take immediate action. The Deputy President respects our hardworking police officers who put in a lot of hours to secure our environment and country.’ Read part of the statement sent to newsrooms.  The DP said the incident is unacceptable, regrettable and the police have been asked to investigate the unbecoming behavior of the pilot.’

Kenya’s Police Inspector General has ordered  for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the  pilot.

In the video, the officer is seen emerging from the helicopter after a crowd surged towards it. The pilot is heard shouting insults at the policewoman before he grabs her swagger stick. At some point he is seen pushing the policewoman, attracting the ire of the crowd at the grounds. However no one intervened.
