Up to a quarter of Zimbabwe’s population to face food shortage

The World Food Programme has welcomed President Robert Mugabe’s declaration of a state of disaster in the wake of a severe drought.

WFP’s top official in Zimbabwe, Eddie Rowe,  said the declaration will now speed up the implementation of a response plan by the WFP in the country.
