AU Meeting ends with consensus on support for standby force
A two day Extraordinary Meeting of the African Union’s Specialized Technical Committee on Defense, Safety and Security concluded in the capital Addis Ababa on Friday.
The meeting was attended by defence ministers and military officials from across Africa.
During the meeting it was reiterated that African states must strengthen the continental stand by force.
This is in order for it to provide the needed African solutions for the continent’s security issues.
This meeting also adopted the reports of the AMANI Africa military exercise held in South Africa a couple of months ago, involving troops from different African states.
