Read < 1 minute

Locals living in Kenya’s coastal town of Lamu have been urged to be more vigilant and provide information about any suspicious people.

Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta made the appeal during a visit to the town, which has been celebrating the Maulid festival.

The week-long festival commemorates the birth of Islam’s Prophet Mohammed.
