China’s President Xi Jinping has unveiled a funding package for Africa – worth around sixty billion US dollars.

That includes loans, investment – and education and training for thousands of young Africans.

The announcement came at the start of the Focus On China-Africa Co-Operation summit, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

President Xi  has also given a speech at a high-level business forum on the sidelines of the summit.

Xi took the opportunity to stress the importance of the Forum and the significance of China-Africa cooperation.
