Chinese police unit awarded in Liberia

China and Africa’s cooperation stretches across all sectors.

Over in Liberia a Chinese police unit was recently awarded UN medals in recognition for their outstanding contribution to peacekeeping.

Several top UN, Chinese, and Liberian officials attended the ceremony.

A Special Representative for Ban Ki-moon, General Farid Zarif, reviewed the police unit, and thanked them for their service – and the positive commitment from the Chinese government to ensure peacekeeping in Africa.

The 140-member police unit was praised for its professionalism and courage.
