Delivering a speech on the first day of the G20 Leaders Summit in Antalya, Chinese president Xi Jinping said the platform should work to maintain stable economic growth in the short term, while seek to inject new energy into the world economy over the long run.

To achieve this goal, he raised a four-point proposal. First, the world should strengthen communication and coordination of macro-economic policies, especially between developed economies and emerging markets. Secondly, countries should promote reform and innovation to tap the potential of mid to long-term world economic growth. Third, an open world economy should be established to unleash vigorous international trade and investment and avoid trade protectionism.  And fourth, implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development would build momentum for equitable and inclusive development
