Other African bourses seek partnership with Ethiopia Commodity Exchange
Ethiopia runs one of the few successful commodity exchanges in Africa. The country’s commodity exchange has benefited millions of small holder farmers across the nation and has formed a regulated and formal market in the country. Now, that experience has become attractive to other African states, who want to establish similar operations. Countries like Mozambique, Nigeria, Egypt and Malawi are already creating partnership with ECX.
Several Presidential and ministerial visits from across Africa as well as Asia have been made to the Ethiopian commodity exchange almost in a weekly basis; all seeking insights and know-how from the Ethiopian way of doing business. Delegates from Mozambique, Egypt, Malawi, and Nigeria have so far signed a partnership deal with ECX.
