Thousands of Kite Lovers from Around the world head to South Africa for International Kite Festival

21st International Kite Festival took place in Cape Town on Saturday, in support of mental healthcare in the country. The annual charity event gave kite lovers the best show on the continent.

Event draws thousands from around the world some professional kite-makers and fliers from around the country and the world there to present their kite creations, as well as a crowd-pleasing performance of their skills as handlers.

Adults and kids alike from South Africa and beyond also had the chance to participate in free kite making workshops available over the weekend

Kite Festival is one of the largest annual events of its kind in Africa; the high-flying extravaganza attracts over 20,000 visitors each year, including some of the biggest names in kiting, both locally and internationally
