South Africa yesterday beat Argentina 24-13 to claim 3rd spot in the 2015 Rugby World Cup tournament.

The Springboks had been left to battle for third place after failing to beat New Zealand who will meet Australia today in what promises to be a mouth-watering clash.

The Wallabies themselves made it to the finals after going past Argentina, who then went on to lose to South Africa to take fourth position.

South Africa began the tournament on a low, going down to minnows Japan in what has been billed as the shock of the tournament.

They however picked themselves up and won all their following games, making it to the semi-final where they were pitted against a much fancied New Zealand.

Today’s final will see the winner crowned for a record three times as both have won the tournament two times.

The All Blacks are the defending champions and should they win, they will be the first team in the history of the tournament to retain the trophy.

The game kicks off at 1600GMT.
