At least 300 African migrants have been detained in Libya while attempting to board boats headed to Europe according to Libyan Officials.

A majority of the migrants are said to be from Sub-Saharan Africa were found on the beach in east of Tripoli.

“This is the largest group we have ever caught at once,” Said the Military spokesperson Mohammed Al-Shamy

Libya’s internal disorder has been an enabling environment for smugglers to flourish, transporting thousands of smugglers across the Mediterranean
