Rwanda President Free to Run for a Third Term
Rwanda Supreme court cleared the path for President Kagame to run for a third time for the presidential seat.
The opposition Democratic Green Party of Rwanda had filed a case to court to prevent parliament from allowing change of article 101 of the constitution which states that an elected president can only run for the presidency once.
Kagame has been in power since 2000 and is seeking to extend his two term limit. The opposition party will petition the president not to run for office the next coming general elections.
