World leaders gathered at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, where they adopted 17 new Sustainable Development Goals with the expiry of Millennium Development Goals.

But if the UN’s new plan is to be more successful than the last, Africa’s voice will have to become louder, and vital issues addressed with urgency.

So will we finally see the reform the continent has been calling for? And how will these new development goals impact on the relationship between Africa and the UN?
