Manchester United left back Luke Shaw picked up a horrific leg injury in Manchester United’s Champions League group stage defeat to PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion.
PSV’s Hector Moreno inflicted a season ending tackle on the young England defender with a diving tackle in the fourteenth minute.
Shaw cried out in agony as the medical team attended to him on the turf, as fellow players looked on shell-shocked.
After an eight-minute delay, Shaw was stretched off the field of play to an applause from both sets of fans at the Philips Stadion.
It was later confirmed that Shaw suffered a double fracture on his right leg, an injury that might keep him out for the rest of the season.
The left-back’s injury has received quite some reaction on the internet, with fans and players alike taking on the social media to express their sympathy and encouragement messages.
