Thousands of migrants stuck on Greece-Macedonia border

Thousands of migrants remain stranded on the border between Greece and Macedonia of refugees. In the last two months, an estimated 44,000 migrants have entered the country, a major transit point to European Union member countries.

A huge number of migrants many of them from Syria has built up in recent days, after Macedonia sealed its southern border and declared a state of emergency.

Most of the migrants wish to travel through Macedonia and Serbia to reach northern Europe, via Hungary.
