Orlando Pirates embarked on their trip to Tunisia on Thursday afternoon eager to claim victory against CS Sfaxien and bolster their chances of progressing from Group B in the CAF Confederations Cup.

But coach Eric Tinkler is aware that despite their experience and successful campaigns on the continent in the past, the team needs to up their game if they are to come away with all 3 points in Sunday’s clash.

Orlando Pirates is South Africa’s most successful club in African competitions and have the experience to once again challenge the best on the continent for top honours.

But the former CAF Champions League winners are still reeling from a disappointing loss to Egyptian giants Zamalek and on their departure to Tunisia, coach Eric Tinkler made it clear that the Sea Robbers have a goal of collecting maximum points on Sunday night.

“At this stage of the competition you realize you are playing against extremely tough opposition, strong teams, not easy gains and when you get a lead you got to try and protect that lead and I think that is what we have learnt from the game against Zamalek we go now to CS Sfaxien with a positive mindset to look to try and collect all three points.”

Tinkler does have injury concerns going into the match and will hoping the squad  remains fit for the game.

The squad is confident going into the encounter and maintains the fact that the Sea Robbers lost against the Tunsian outfit in 2006 is not a factor going into the weekend.

Orlando Pirates face an arduous journey to get to Tunisia they’ve got to go via Dubai but the message from coach Eric Tinkler is clear they are there to get a job done and get all three points against a team struggling for form and who haven’t won since May,Sias du Plessis, CCTV, Johannesburg.
