Burundi’s Presidential poll kicks off amid reports of violence overnight

There was some violence reported ahead of Tuesday’s polls in Burundi. There were reports of gunfire and explosions in several parts of the capital, Bujumbura. At least two people, a policeman and a civilian were killed overnight Monday.

President Pierre Nkurunziza is widely expected to win a third consecutive term despite international condemnation and thousands of people fleeing feared violence.
