Anthony Anderson set to host 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards

American comedian Anthony Anderson has been announced as the host of the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs).

The “Black-ish” actor, who recently co-hosted the 2015 BET Awards, will host the much-anticipated MAMAs over the weekend in Durban.

“I’m so looking forward to my first trip to Durban and KwaZulu-Natal and honoured to be hosting MAMA 2015 on Nelson Mandela’s birthday – it’s going to be awesome!” Anderson said in a statement.

Anderson joins headliling international acts Jhené Aiko, Ne-Yo and Young Thug performing at the show.

African acts performing at the awards this year include 2Face, AKA, Big Nuz, Black Motion, Bucie, Cassper Nyovest, Da Les, Davido, Diamond Platnumz, DJ Fisherman, DJ Tira, NaakMusiQ, Toofan, Wizkid and Yemi Alade.
