Taleban attack Afghanistan parliament in the capital Kabul
The Taleban in Afghanistan have claimed responsibility for the attack on Parliament in Kabul forcing legislators who were in session to evacuate from the building.
Loud Explosions and gunfire were heard with smoke seen coming from the building.
According to Al Jazeera suicide bombers attacked parliament while politicians were in session.
Police at the scene said at least one suicide car bomb exploded outside the parliament and that attackers were still firing from a building under construction across the street at the time of writing this story.
The Taleban who claimed responsibility for the attack, said the attack was in response to an ongoing vote to endorse the new defense minister, Massoom Stanekzai.
Pictures on social media showed parliament full of smoke and people running for cover.
The attack comes at a time when the northern province of Kunduz has been under heavy Taliban siege for weeks.
