Chad government blames Boko Haram for attacks in the capital N’Djamena

Read < 1 minute

At least 27 people have been killed in a series of attacks in the capital, N’Djamena.

No group has yet claimed responsibility, but Nigerian militant group Boko Haram is the main suspects.

Chad is part of the regional force meant to eradicate the group. Chad is blaming Boko Haram for the attacks that targeted police and intelligence offices.

The communications minister has vowed to locate and neutralize members of the militant group. The regional task force to combat Boko Haram is being set up in the city.

If confirmed that this was an attack by the militants, it would be the first time they struck in the Chadian capital. The group had previously criticised Chadian president Idriss Deby for his involvement and it vowed to retaliate.
