Britain’s Olympic and world champion Mo Farah says he had no plans to end his relationship with coach Alberto Salazar, despite allegations the American had encouraged his athletes to use illegal substances.

The 32 year old won the double in the 5,000 and 10,000 metres at the 2012 Olympics, 2013 World Championships and last year’s European Championships under Salazar’s guidance.

The athlete who left the Birmingham meet to go confront his coach in the USA however added he would end his relationship with Salazar if the allegations were upheld. Salazar and Farah’s training partner Galen Rupp, who is also implicated, have insisted they are innocent of the allegations. Salazar has coached Farah since 2011.

Mo Farah is to be investigated amid the doping allegations surrounding his long-term coach Alberto Salazar.

The chairman of UK Athletics has said that the medical data of the double-Olympic gold winner will be assessed as part of the case against Salazar.
