Ivory Coast’s cassava production drops

Farmers in Côte D’Ivoire had abandoned Cassava production in favor of more lucrative practices, such as rubber.

This follows the high cost of production among other difficulties.

Farmers are hoping that new varieties of the Cassava which is a staple crop will increase yields and meet growing demand.
