Favela residents get opportunity to meet Jamaican track star Usain Bolt

Read < 1 minute

Jamaican sprint gold medalist Usain Bolt visited the Olympic centre at Rio’s most traditional favela, Mangueira, on Thursday, ahead of the “Mano a Mano” 100-meter race in the city at the weekend. Bolt has kicked off his campaign to win sprint honors at Beijing’s World Championships later this year and said he would be willing to face American rival Justin Gatlin at any time. Bolt last visited the next Olympic host city in August last year, and for many of the favela residents meeting the iconic sprinter was a dream come true.
