Abu Dhabi team wins second stage of Volvo Ocean Race

Abu Dhabi Ocean racing team endured tough weather conditions to win the second stage of the Volvo Ocean race on Sunday. The team skippered by Briton Ian Walker recorded victory crossing the finish line in 18 days, 23 hours, and 30 minutes.The victory set a new best mark for the most nautical miles sailed in 24 hours with 551 nautical miles leading up to Cape Horn and sees Walker and his crew go seven points clear of Chinese Dongfeng Race Team,after their vessel was forced out of the leg due to a fractured mast.

The leg took the crew on a 6,800 nautical mile journey from the pacific to the Atlantic,round Cape Horn up the to the South American coast in Brazil in the nine-month offshore sailing contest
