Kenya bombes Al-Shabaab camps
The Kenya Deffence forces war planes are said to have pounded the camps in Gondodowe and Ismail, both in the Gedo region bordering Kenya.
“We targeted the two areas because according to information we have, those (al Shabaab) fellows are coming from there to attack Kenya,” he said, in reference to Thursday’s massacre at Garissa University College, some 200km (120 miles) from the Somali border according to a report by Reuters.
148 people died in Thursday’s massacre which Al Shabaab claimed to have planned and executed.
Kenyans are still mourning following the senseless killing of students at the Garissa University an act that President Uhuru Kenyatta vowed to respond to severely.
The attack on Garissa University, about 150km (90 miles) from the Somali border, was the deadliest by al-Shabab in Kenya since the last attack on Westgate mall that lasted three days.
Al Shabaab says it is at war with Kenya for sending its troupes to Somalia.
