Kenya won the senior men’s and women’s races at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang, China on Saturday. Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor and Agnes Tirop were victorious in men’s and women’s races respectively.

Tirop brought home Kenya’s 300th IAAF World Cross Country Championships medal and became the youngest senior women’s winner after finishing the race in 26 minutes and one second. As in the senior women’s race, Kenyan athletes set the pace from the off in the senior men’s event.

Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor and team-mate Bedan Karoki Muchiri led throughout. Kamworor had the stronger finish, sprinting away from Muchiri to win in 34 minutes, 52 seconds and complete a Kenyan double.
