Police in Botswana are investigating a case that many have called strange where a mother is alleged to have chopped off her new born baby’s fingers.
The 31 year old mother is alleged to have intended to end her baby’s life after giving birth at home, according to the Echo newspaper which reported the story on Wednesday.
Family members who rescued the baby expressed shock that the child was missing a few fingers. The baby was later taken to hospital and is continuing to receive treatment.
Reports say the baby’s mother has been arrested and may be charged for attempted murder.
