South Africa’s Clothing Bank

High unemployment figures remain a cause for concern to many in South Africa. Women and especially single mothers are some of the most economically vulnerable with figures indicating around 60% of them are unemployed. Some of them, desperate for some form of income have turned to The Clothing Bank. This Cape Town based organization has come up with a concept that uses waste as an effective resource in driving through enterprise development and in effect, teaching unemployed single mothers to run a sustainable business. CCTV’s Travers Andrews has this report.
