At least 69 people, mostly women and children, were killed Tuesday night, when Boko Haram attacked Zowo ward in Gubio area of Nigeria’s restive northeastern Borno state, a military source said on Wednesday.

The attack came after another one on Auno village, where insurgents killed six soldiers and dozens of other soldiers remain missing, the source said.

Zowo is a small community in Gubio area, about 85 km northwest of Maiduguri, the state capital.
