603 recoveries recorded in Kenya as COVID-19 cases rise to 23,873
Kenya reported 671 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the country’s caseload to 23, 873, the country’s Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said.
This is out of 6,200 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of tests done in the country to 329,123.
Of the cases reported, 633 are Kenyans while 38 are foreigners.
Kagwe also said that the total number of recoveries in the country rose to 9,930 after 603 people recovered from the virus.
Three more patients succumbed to the virus, bringing the death toll to 391.
The CS was speaking at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital where he officially opened the Infectious Disease Unit & Intensive Care Unit with an additional 500-bed capacity. Out of those, 60 beds will be used for ICU & HDU.
