30 killed in grisly Zimbabwe road crash
At least thirty people were killed in a grisly road accident in Zimbabwe after a bus they were travelling in collided with another bus along the Harare-Bulawayo highway, leaving 36 others injured.
The accident was caused by a tyre burst for one of the buses, which then hit the other bus near Kwekwe town along the highway, police said.
Both drivers of the vehicles were among the dead. Local police said said 28 people died on the spot while two others died on admission at Kwekwe Hospital. Thirty-two people were in critical condition.
The accident is one of the major road accidents to occur in recent months in a country that often experiences road fatalities due to poor state of the roads and speeding, among other factors.
