3 suspects nabbed for killing policemen in Ghana
Investigators in Ghana have arrested three persons suspected of killing two on-duty police officers on Wednesday.
The three unnamed suspects traveling in an unregistered salon car opened fire on a team of policemen who attempted to pursue them after they had ignored signals to stop at a check-point at Buduburam, about 38 kilometers west of the capital.
Two officers were killed during the shoot-out with the suspects, while a third one sustained bullet wounds.
Wednesday’s incident is the latest in a recent spate of attacks on law enforcement in Ghana.
Last week an officer was found lifeless in a plastic chair while on guard duty at the Dukes Petroleum Filling station at Swedru in the Eastern region at about 5:40 am.
And on July 30 a policewoman, General Corporal Agatha Nana Nabin, was on July 30 killed while on snap check duties at Kumbungu in the Northern region.
