Ghana’s Black stars were crowned Champions of the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations on Sunday after handing the Nigeria Super Eagles a thrashing at the Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana.

Stephen Sarfo scored a brace, earning him the man of the match award, while Vincent Atinga and Winful Cobbinah grabbed a goal each for the hosts.

Nigeria’s Rabiu Ali scored a stunning free kick late in the game but it couldn’t change the result as the Super Eagles settled for second place, while Ghana retained the title they had last won in 2013.
