The final ascent to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, is often the hardest part of the climb.

Climbers must gain about a kilometer in altitude, over steep terrain covered in jagged rocks, gravel, ice and snow.

Rockfalls are an ever present reminder of just how dangerous the Mountain can be.
