The United States will send two experts to Liberia to help in investigations on the sequence of Ebola outbreaks in the West African nation, Liberia’s chief medical officer Francis Kateh has announced.

Liberia reported three new cases on Friday, less than three months after it was decl;ared free of the virus by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The West African nation was first declared Ebola-free on 9 May, but new cases emerged in June resulting in two deaths.

It was finally declared free of the deadly virus again on 3 September.

Liberia has battled to cope with the disease partly because of the country’s poor health services.

It has experienced more than 10,000 cases of Ebola and more than 4,000 deaths since the outbreak in March 2014.
