Uganda’s music fraternity has paid tribute to South African jazz icon Hugh Masekela.

Jazz is becoming increasingly popular in Uganda, making it the soundtrack to Kampala’s vibrant night life.

One artist hoping to follow in Masekela’s footsteps is Isaiah Katumwa who headlined the show in Kampala. Also headlining the tribute show was jazz legend Manu Dibango from Cameroon.

Katumwa and Dibango were joined by the legendary Moses Matovu of Afrigo Band and this brought the whole audience to its feet.
