Thousands of Seychellois and visitors from all around the world have converged in Seychelles to see floats, dancers, and entertainers make their way through the streets of one of the world’s smallest capitals.

The country is hosting what has been nicknamed as the United Nations of culture, the Carnival International de Victoria, an event aimed at bringing people together through culture.

This year’s theme is one of national unity, with the organizers hoping to spread an important message.

Year after year the delegations from Africa have increased, with Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia South Africa and Mauritius gracing this years event.

Although the festival’s main aim is to entertain, over the years it has also put the archipelago on the map, as not just a key destination for honeymooners, but also as a melting pot of cultures.
