Liverpool’s Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has won yet another award to add more gloss onto his already incredible debut season at the Merseyside club.
Salah has been named the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year, becoming the first-ever African to win the award.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a dream start to life at Anfield, netting 43 times in all competitions so far this season.
The Egyptian is currently the top scorer in the English Premier League with 31 goals, four ahead of second-placed Harry Kane.
Salah has already won the PFA Player of the Year award, three Player of the Month Awards, and is well in contention to win both the English Golden Boot and European Golden Shoe.
He is hoping to help his side secure a first Champions League final spot in a decade when his side meets Italian club AS Roma on Wednesday in the second leg of the semi-finals.
Salah scored twice in the first leg to help his side win 5-2.
Should Liverpool make it to the final, they will meet the winner of the second leg that pits defending Champions Real Madrid and German Champions Bayern Munich. The Spanish side has the advantage after snatching a 2-1 win at the Allianz Arena last week.
