Asian human rights forum kicks off in Beijing

The International Symposium on “Asian Human Rights Forum-Environment, Climate Change and Human Rights” hosted by Renmin University of China kicked off in Beijing on Saturday with experts and scholars from more than 20 countries and regions in Asia participating online.

The forum focused on the theme “Environment, Climate Change and Human Rights” and set up 12 units, including the concept of human rights from an Asian perspective, the basic theories of environmental rights, the achievements and experiences of environmental rights protection in Asian countries, and legal adjustments under climate change.

Guests at the meeting summarized the experience and achievements of environmental and human rights protection in Asian countries over the past decade and also discussed environmental rights from the perspective of human rights and their realization in the context of climate change.
