Nigerian internet subscribers fall by 10.9 million in nearly one year

According to statistics from the Nigeria Communication Commission(NCC) internet subscribers in Nigeria fell by 10.9 million in nearly one year; from 151.3 million in January 2021 to 140.4 million in November.

The agency’s policy on the sanitization of mobile data and telephone numbers through a verification exercise since 2020 has trimmed subscribers.

According to the NCC, Nigerians have opted for mobile data services over the wired system.

In November, the commission announced measures to improve internet service for subscribers.
