Three ministers have been replaced on Thursday as part of a partial cabinet reshuffle in Algeria, official media reported, quoting a statement of the presidency.
The departing ministers are namely Hamid Hamdani as Agriculture Minister, Ammar Belhimer as Communication Minister, and Abderrahmane Lahfai as Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister. They were replaced respectively by Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni, Mohamed Bouslimani and Youcef Chorfa.
The source noted that this partial cabinet reshuffle was conducted by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in accordance with the constitution, and after consultation with Prime Minister Ayman Benabderrahmane.
This is the first cabinet reshuffle since the appointment of Benabderrahmane as prime minister in July.
The main challenges facing the cabinet is addressing the lasting economic and financial crisis hitting the country during recent years.
