Ten people died and four others were injured in a road accident in southern Angola, police reported Sunday.
The accident took place Saturday evening in Chibia district in southern Angola, on the Angolan National Road 105 that connects the provinces of Huila and Cunene, where a truck collided with a van taxi with 14 occupants, police said.
Excessive speed was the cause of the accident that left the van completely destroyed, according to a spokesman for the provincial command of the National Police in Huila, chief inspector Fernando Tongo.
Ten victims died at the scene and the four wounded are receiving medical assistance, Tango added.
According to Tango, among the injured, two are in serious condition and hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit.
