Paris Saint-Germain have received a major boost ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester City, with Lionel Messi returning to full training.

The Champions-League-chasing French giants posted a series of training pictures showing Messi among his teammates preparing for the clash.

The Argentine missed his side’s last two Ligue 1 games against Metz and Montpellier, having suffered a knee injury during the win over Lyon earlier this month.

PSG will be hoping to secure a win against Pep Guardiola’s men, having only managed a draw with Club Brugge in their opener. Manchester City on the other hand thumped RB Leipzig 6-3 in a thrilling encounter.

The French side comes into the clash with a 100 percent in Ligue 1, having won all eight games played so far and sitting at the top of the standings.

Manchester City on the other hand are currently in second place behind Liverpool in the Premier League, having won four of its six games played so far.

Messi completed his transfer to PSG in August as a free agent, but is yet to score a goal for his new side.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner said during his official unveiling as a PSG player that his target was to win the Champions League with the French side.

“My goal and my dream is to win the Champions League once more. I think Paris is the best place to do so. I think that we have the team to do it here. I hope we can make it happen,” he said in the press conference held on August 12, 2021.
