As a result, movement of live poultry and their products, (fresh meat, eggs, feathers and poultry litter) within and out of Bokaa and Etsha 13 villages is suspended with immediate effect.

The ministry reiterated that the movement of live poultry and their products transiting through Bokaa and Etsha 13 villages is allowed only if the consignment is accompanied by a valid livestock movement permit, transported in a sealed vehicle or container and that the seals are only broken by veterinary officials at the destination.

The government says quarantine measures will be imposed on any suspected and infected poultry establishment.

“The farming community and the general public is requested to continue to be vigilant and to report and sicknesses and deaths of domestic poultry and wild birds to the nearest veterinary office,” the ministry stated.
