Over 16 million fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Morocco

The total number of people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Morocco reached 16,102,419, the Moroccan Ministry of Health said.

So far, a total of 19,620,474 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Morocco, it said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Morocco’s tally of COVID-19 infections rose to 893,462 as 3,930 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, while the total recoveries increased by 5,459 to 840,002, it said.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Morocco rose by 72 to 13,296, while 2,039 people remained in intensive care units, it added.

The North African country launched a nationwide vaccination campaign on January 28 after the arrival of the first shipment of China’s Sinopharm vaccines.
