More than 10 dead in Senegal road accident


More than 10 people have lost their lives in a road accident in Podor, Senegal.

While offering his message of condolence, President Macky Sall said, “I express my pain following the terrible road accident early this morning at the crossroads of Guédé and the RN2 in Podor. I offer my condolences to the families of the 11 deceased people and wish speedy recovery to the injured.”

Local media however reports that the number of those dead could be more, adding that the accident was as a result of a collision between a minibus and a coach, at around 6am.

The wounded are currently admitted.

Local media reports that 9 people died instantly, while the others are said to have succumbed to their injuries while at the hospital.
