President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar survives assassination attempt

Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina has survived an assassination attempt.

The Malagasy public prosecutor’s office announced that it had foiled the attempt on the President.

In a statement to the Press, Prosecutor General of the Court of Appeal of Antananarivo Berthine Razafiarivony, announced the Tuesday night arrest of individuals, (Malagasy and foreigners), suspected of having planned to eliminate high -profile figures, including the President of the Republic.

“At this stage of the ongoing investigation, the general prosecutor’s office ensures that all the light will be shed,” she added.

TRT World reports that two French nationals are among suspects arrested.
