Burundi suspends mandatory quarantine for people arriving in the country


Burundi’s national committee against COVID-19 has suspended mandatory quarantine for persons arriving Burundi.

In a communique by the Burundian Ministry of Interior, Community Development and Public Security, the committee also announced that it has reopened the border posts with Tanzania in Kobero in Muyinga Province and Mugina in Makamba Province effective June 14.

Burundi National Radio also reported that people coming into the country will quarantine at home or in a hotel of their choice.

COVID-19 tests will be done at the border posts and the results will be available within 24 hours.
